Modjaw 4D Dentistry

With Modjaw on the way to 4-D Dentistry

With the help of Modjaw Tech in Motion®, not only the jaws can be assigned three-dimensionally to each other and to the jaw joints, but also the 4th dimension - Time -can also be taken into account. This means that, for the first time in dentistry, the individual movements of the jaw joint can be shown in detail, recorded and later re-played. Especially in the diagnosis and therapy of Craniomandibular Dysfunction (CMD), Modjaw has become an indispensable part of holistic dental care. Movement recording using Modjaw not only enables precise diagnosis of jaw joint problems, but individual movements can also be taken into account when new dentures or bite splints are made - for a balanced, perfect bite.

Procedure when using Modjaw
  • The patient's jaw and bite are optically recorded using the intraoral scanner
  • The data sets of the intraoral scanner (3D models) are entered into Modjaw
  • With the help of Modjaw, the individual movements and the joint axis are recorded and can be analyzed
  • The data sets of the individual movements are transmitted to the dental laboratory
  • Your three-dimensional movement data is superimposed on the design of the planned dental prosthesis using the design software in our dental laboratory. In this way, your cusp inclination, fissure depth and tooth curvature can be correctly adjusted with regard to possible sliding obstacles before the dentures are made.
  • The goal is a perfect bite and a tailor-made, functional dental work!
Benefits of using Modjaw:
  • A complete diagnosis of the current oral condition and Craniomandibular Dysfunction is enabled
  • The jaw movements can be observed live. Chewing movements can be visualized and the necessary treatments can be better understood.
  • An accurate analysis of tooth contacts can be performed: Quickly, easily and non-invasively for the patient's well-being and health.
  • The digital recording of the chewing movement enables the Dental Technician to produce the dentures that perfectly fit the jaw joints and the chewing muscles. The result is the production of functionally fully adapted, tailor-made dentures.
  • The temporomandibular joint axis is determined and can be taken into account.
  • Important parameters of the temporomandibular joint movements (Bennett angle, condylar inclination, spee curve, etc.) can be calculated, analyzed and taken into account.
  • All models and movement data are stored digitally and can be used again at any time for further dentures or for comparison in the future.
